Music Video of the Day // ‘Counting Empties’ by Bleach Lab

Bleach Lab is a bit of an enigma.  More or less, unheralded  since their arrival in 2019, but not at all meant to be unheard. The artistic ambition is strong with them and so you bump into Bleach Lab at the right spots, like KXLU’s She Rocks or Dork.  But chances are, you’ve never seen them (or even heard them). Their musical perfection is stripped down to the bare essentials so that nothing stands between you and the song. Their story translates on screen too with the music videos. 

When experiencing the ‘Counting Empties’ music video you lose your whereabouts but feel nostalgia; the broken blinds, wood grain furniture and television tube waves match the aesthetic you might have encountered at a friend’s house say 1991, whether it was in London or Toledo.  If you like this dreamy, shoe-gazey, sappy mothersucker of a song then definitely beam over to Bleach Lab’s homebase on the interwebs.
